Today, I am incredibly grateful to bring you my Family Guy ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VL-0F3IAVfo&feature=related ) inspired blog with What Grinds My Gears? You may hate this blog but that's okay, because sometimes it feels good to complain about what other people do that drives you absolutely crazy (and in my blog you can't interrupt me, 1st pet peeve). I am also going to apologize in advance for those of you who are offended in any way. I'm sure someone will be, Bahaha Sorry! I would also like to make a disclaimer: I have more than likely done a number of the following things, and they may contradict each other but that is how life goes. My list is as follows:
1. People interrupting me or someone I am listening to. Don't do it, it is rude and you will probably get your chance to talk. The world is not (okay probably not) going to end in the next 2.5 seconds. And I know this is true for myself, whatever you are interrupting with is probably not even that important in the grand scheme of things.
2. Bad drivers. I know I have been a bad driver once and only once in my life :) And this is probably grinds every one's gears so I had to include it. The thing that really makes me angry is getting stuck behind someone going under the speed limit. I know farmer, you and your buddy and your dog want to look at how the corn is coming up and where the cows got through the fence. I know that my grandpas are two of these guys, but I do not care to look at these things. I would generally just like to get where I am going and preferably on time.
3. Finding grammatical errors in published text. I know that my typing, spelling and grammar aren't always perfect. Yes, I will use a preposition at the end of my sentence and that is fine with me. But I know better than to use contractions or the word 'you' in a formal paper. I do not employ an editor so I have mistakes, but publishing companies do for a reason.
4. People using big words out of context to appear more intelligent. This absolutely makes me crazy. If you do this, don't. You sound like an idiot. I'm going to stop here before I get unhinged.
5. Complainers. I understand that this is dedicated to me complaining, but I don't complain all the time about stuff going on. I don't always jabber about how horrible my day was because I know you probably could care less. But I will always listen to you complain about yours.
6. Broken Bones...haha
7. That person at the grocery store who waits for someone to unload their groceries in their car, get in their car, and leave just so they can have that shopper's spot. That person waits for five minutes even though 8 other cars are now stuck too. You could probably use the extra exercise so drive down 4 spots and park there.
8. Chronically late people...come on get it together. Gives me anxiety.
9. Organization. Can't find or do anything. Also gives me anxiety.
10. Actually putting something away, and then not being able to find it because it is where it belongs. Think back to when you were young and your mom told you to put your shoes(coat, bookbag, glasses, etc.) away and then you were panicking when you couldn't find them.
11. Older generations assuming everyone in my generation doesn't respect our elders, we all have to be spoon fed, we all use stupid text abbreviations, etc. Not all of us do these things.
12. Americans. We suck people. We are so self absorbed. Time and money driven. More of us need to take the time to stop and smell the roses. And maybe learn and respect other cultures...just a thought, okay?
13. People who judge and don't give others a chance to get to know them.
14. People who park purposely in the middle of two spots so no one can door ding their car. Your car is probably not that cool. When you do this, I purposely want to park really close to you to make you mad. Your black 2005 Impala with big rims, tinted windows and chrome is not cool. Don't take up two spots.
15. If you have watched a movie with me you might know this one. People who ask questions and talk during a movie. I enjoy watching movies and at that particular time might not want to listen to you. I also cannot answer your question about what is going on in the movie... So don't ask.
16. Cats. They are moody and I just don't like to be around moody, mean cats.
17. Cashiers who don't count my change back, I like to make sure you did it right. I will count it as soon as you give it to me if you don't.
18. People who put their gum underneath tables. I have had to scrape that off. Just don't.
19. When someone uses something of mine and doesn't put it back or they use it without asking. It is mine, remember that.
20. When things aren't even. This not ending on 20 for example. The volume on 23. I just like it better that way. Learn to deal.
Hope you enjoyed my nonsensical gear grinding blog about really nothing at all important. I'll say it again, sorry if I offended you. But then again, not really because no one should do these things.
Until we meet again blogosphere.
Hum, I guess you should not read my kids Blogs then....I make so many spelling and grammar errors, but I figure, it's more for them as an on going diary of their little lives....
ReplyDeleteBTW, I so enjoy reading yours!
