Birthdays

I told this story to a couple of people at work the other day and I thought I'd share with everyone else.  While many of you know that my birthday is coming up shortly (next Tuesday to be exact), I have had a string of very horrible birthdays in the past.

I'm going to put you in the time machine and take you back almost 9 years.  It was my golden birthday, which also happened to land on Friday the 13th.  Coincidence, I think not! I went to bed on my birthday eve excited to celebrate my 13th birthday as I had a birthday party planned.  Well sometime in the middle of the night I woke up and threw up off the side of my bed.  So I got out of bed and headed downstairs to go to the bathroom.  Well, I projectile vomited on my way down the stairs and I believe most of it ended up running down the wall.  So I spent the rest of the night and my entire birthday throwing up.  Not only that, but my party had to be postponed until the next week.  Which it ended up pretty much blizzarding.

My 16th birthday was equally as awful.  While I didn't puke all over our house, I did indeed spend that birthday home from school throwing up.  Allie took care of me while I spent the whole day watching Lonesome Dove. At least, it wasn't a 16 candles type day where everyone forgot...Mom and Dad wished me happy birthday in the paper and Dad put it on the radio and brought me a pink rose :)

While these two birthdays should be enough to qualify me for awful birthday luck, when I came to college, it almost got worse.  My birthday for the past three years has fallen on finals week.  And last year, my 21st birthday was on Monday of finals week.  So this year, I want to have a perfect birthday.  And for those of you who have to hear me say things about my birthday this year I apologize.  I'm excited to celebrate the anniversary of my 21st birthday.

Hopefully, this year I am as healthy as a horse when I celebrate my birthday :)

Also, please don't tell me I'm getting old.  It could be dangerous to your health!

Until we meet again blogoshpere :)
